NATSIEHC26 Leadership and Theme

FNEHA Board and CEO

Leadership

NATSIEHC 26 is led and hosted by The First Nations Eye Health Alliance (FNEHA)

FNEHA, as the national peak body and leading voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye care, hosts and leads the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Eye Health Conference (NATSIEHC), the only national forum dedicated to improving eye health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

In 2026, NATSIEHC marks its 10th anniversary and just its second year of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control and leadership.

Community support

NATSIEHC Conference Leadership Group (CLG)

CLG is a collective of First Nations members who help guide the vision, direction, and cultural integrity of the event. This group provides strategic and artistic oversight, ensuring the conference reflects the voices, priorities, and self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Members of the 2026 CLG include:

Sara Carrison (Chair), Makkaillah Ridgeway, Katrina Cox, Doseena Fergie, Jessica Curnuck, Kerry Woods, Harrison Pike, Nicole Turner, Tania McLeod, Anne-Marie Banfield and Lesley Martin.

NATSIEHC26 Theme

Our 2026 theme, Seeing Our Way: Innovation, Excellence and Healing, recognises Indigenous leadership, honours our past and inspires a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples lead efforts to shape their health outcomes and collective wellbeing.

As we come together, we will be empowered, informed, and inspired, emphasising our collective effort to support improvements in eye health outcomes and end avoidable vision loss in communities.
